The Bedford-Sackville Chapter supports the growing number of families and individuals touched by autism in HRM/ Central region. This group was founded by 2 moms, both of whom were looking for social opportunities for their children and others on the autism spectrum.
This chapter has grown into a support group for parents, family members and caregivers of persons living with Autism. Once a month we meet to share and learn from one another. Laughter, tears, frustrations and celebrations, most meetings we cover it all.
We also hold monthly social events for individuals with their caregivers/ families to come & have fun. We currently hold dances, swims, a huge summer picnic and an awesome Christmas bounce party. These events are essential for individuals and their families. They provide a place to connect with each other and a place where persons with ASD can interact with other individuals just like them.
We provide everyone with a warm welcome – that is what we are here for.
Meetings take place from 7 pm – 9 pm on the first Tuesday of every month at the Autism Nova Scotia Bedford office.
