The HRM Bedford Sackville Chapter of Autism Nova Scotia supports the growing number of families and individuals touched by autism in the central region. This group was founded 12 years ago by 2 moms, both whom were looking for social opportunities for their children and others on the autism spectrum.
Since then, this chapter has grown into a support group for parents, family members and caregivers of persons living with autism. Once a month we meet to share and learn from other families, and most meetings we cover it all - laughter, tears, frustrations and celebrations!
We also hold monthly social events for families to come to and have fun. We currently hold dances, swims, a huge summer picnic and an awesome Christmas bounce party. These events are essential for families. They provide a place for families to connect with each other and a place where kids with ASD can interact with other children just like them.
We provide all families with a warm welcome – that is what we are here for.
Support meetings take place from 7pm – 8:45pm.
The first Tuesday of every month at the Bedford Public Library.
See our Calender and Facebook for location of meetings/events.
